If I have one secret to the success of my cakes, its my attention to detail, yes I’m a little OCD and if I don’t get something right I’ve been known to strip a cake completely and start again. Therefore I measure everything.
If I’m designing a new template for top line work, working out where to position sugar embellishments and flowers or even planning an inscription I normally start by printing out a division template. This saves me having to reach for my art box each time to workout degrees of angles to divide up a circle, and then if I’ve drawn it wrong I have to start all over again.
A while back I spent some time working in Microsoft Excel to create templates that were perfectly divided so that I could print out any division from 3 to 20 at just a click of a button. I thought you might all like access to them as they’ve saved me many hours at my drawing desk and in design consultations.
